This year, our Lions Club International is having a campaign to plant One Million trees around the world, so as to preserve our mother earth.
In doing this, the 14 Lions Clubs in Region 1 from the area of Kuching, Serian and Bau In collaboration with Kota Padawan Municipal Council and the Sarawak Forestry Corporation Sdn. Bhd. have decided to plant 500 trees at the MJC new town ship on the 8th October, 2011 & 11th October 2011.
Region 1 Lions Club is hoping that through this meaningful environmental project, they can create awareness to protect our natural environment and to sustain our resources for our future generation. They also hope to inspire other members of the public to plant more trees and shrub to beautify our environment.
